Wrestling Room Request

Hi Guys,

Coach Phillips has requested some artwork in the wrestling area. Here's what he said,

"We would like to have wolverine paws drawn on a couple of walls and some quotes. Just anything you and your students could come up with, to help the team and school take pride in its sports and such. Please let me know, if you could help out with this."

Let's check out this space next time and see what we can come up with!

Artist

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to mention that I know an artist who does murels. She did a science murel at the wheeler science building and it was incredible. I no we are on a small budget but I just thought that I would put that out there.

inbetween the Middle, Upper school and the libary

We NEED, not want, NEED to hire one of those street artists who does the 3-D stuff and have him paint a hole with the bars partially broken and a WOLVERINE in the bottom.
WOLVERINE!

Bulletin Board in Courtyard

Okay so I know Mrs. Arjona mentioned this while we were touring last week, but I think we should do the cork board/bulletin board thing in the courtyard in front of the dining hall. I think it's an awesome idea and the seniors from last year who came back would probably really enjoy that we put their idea into action. It would make it a lot easier to post things more centrally and for people who are visiting Walker for athletic reasons or whatever.

Advertising Wall

As Mrs, Arjona mentioned, I think it is a very good idea to have advertisement in the walls. Especially the one in front of the dinning hall. We can paint it all white or all maroon and let each club advertise its club.

Arrows

This is related to Kiwi's idea of arrows and I think i mentioned it in the tour around the school. I think we should make arrows that tell us where to go (i.e. auditorium, dining hall, etc.) The hall will look less boring and more "interactive (?)".

Walls of our history

A good theme that Mrs. Arjona mentioned for the walls in the media center stairwell was the idea of framed pegasus, yearbooks and newspapers. This would really show the school spirit and honor the walker jounralists and publishers for their hard work.
Similar to Mrs. Arjona's ideas, we can make a wall of Walker class T-shirts somewhere else. I dont know if we have the t shirts of each class of each year but it is always good to start it! We can show the history of walker by doing this. Also, since the colors of the shirts are always different, wherever we make this wall of shirts, it will look very colorful!

Representing each class

Hello!
I thought that the halls and the walls should represent Walker and a very good way to do that is to include halls, benches, walls, for each class (i.e. class of 2010, 2011 etc.). More specifically, we could have a large wooden plaque and have each class grafitti their names on it. We could write the year of the class in big letters and let the students fill it in with their names.
Relating to this concept of class desgins, Mrs. Arjona mentioned a class bench. I think this is a great idea because each class could paint it and represent their class as they wish.

Hey guys!

I probably already mentioned this, and i know we were brainstorming on getting benches out in the halls, but i really like the idea of painting really fun big colorful patterns on the bag shelves out in the hallway( ex: slide 11 on the slide show Mrs. Stewart made). The cream color that is currently on there really is aged looking and it show dirt easiliy... it would be a nice addition to the halls even though they we are just "refreshing" them!

Thanks!

Stairwell in Media Center

I really would like to see something that travels up the stairwell of the Media Center. Maybe since the newspaper and yearbook are produced in those classrooms we coul frame front pages of the paper or cool layouts from the yearbook on the walls. In other words create a theme for all our written media at school in the stairwell.

High School Hallway

I think we should paint one side of the lockers gold and the other marroon. then on top of the lockers have a gold stip of paint over the marroon lockers with marroon wolverine feet leeading toward the middle lockers with the letters WHS in Marroon and vis versa.

speech bubbles/arrows?

okay so i had two ideas that may be complicated but they could be awesome if we did it right. the first one was to have a bunch of different colored speech bubbles, like in comic books, and make kind of a word collage but then have little icons to represent different things... i can draw it if you need a visual. the other one was to have some arrows, since the whole idea of walker is that people are going to "go places" we could have a bunch of different colored arrows all going different directions, and the ones pointing to the foreign language classrooms could have little inscriptions in different languages, and the ones going to the music classrooms could have measures... just an idea.

Themed Hall Sections Ideas and COLOR!

Okay, so I had this idea that above the lockers (or somewhere else), we could have sections of themed stuff. For instance, there could be a section for different sports, arts, clubs, or whatever. Just basically things that represent the students at Walker.

Oh and my first basic idea is that we just need a lot of color in our halls and such.

Just ideas. Comment if you have something to add on!

Hawk Idea #1

Hey everyone! I had an idea to paint a giant mural above the widows of the cafiteria. More details soon.
